On the heels of a rare super blue moon, Ram Trucks aptly announces a limited-edition Lunar model to close out the 2024 Ram HD model year. You’ll see an exclusive color option and some popular equipment on both the Rebel HD and Power Wagon. So, let’s dig into the details.
Color pallets inspired by the moon
The exclusive exterior paint color is a Ceramic Grey, and it includes Lunar vinyl body graphics in gloss black. Inside, you’ll see Surf Blue stitching on black leather seating surfaces. Twill Film accents from the Ram TRX are incorporated on the door, instrument panel and console. Plus, the armrest includes a special die cast metal badge with either “Power Wagon” or “Rebel” embedded on the lid with brushed metal satin chrome lettering. So even if you are unable to keep your truck looking new, this accent will likely still look immaculate decades from now.
2024 Ram HD Lunar Edition is popularly equipped
The 2024 Ram HD Lunar Edition package includes tow mirrors, body-color badging and premium LED headlights and taillights. The Power Wagon will get 17-inch wheels, and the Power Wagon will get 20 inchers. Both get 33-inch tires designed for rough terrain. On the tech front, Lunar models will get a wireless charging pad, which is a first for the Power Wagon and Rebel HD.
In terms of powertrains, the Ram Power Wagon Lunar Edition will get the 410-horsepower, 6.4-liter V-8. It also adds a 12,000-pound Warn winch tucked into the front bumper and will have a towing capacity of 10,610 pounds. The Rebel HD Lunar model will get the 370-horsepower, 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel. It’ll have a 14,900-pound towing capacity and 1,960-pound payload rating.
Starts at $75k
Order books for the Lunar Edition opened on August 1, and vehicles should be available in dealers starting in October of 2024. The Power Wagon Lunar starts at $75,205, and the Rebel HD Lunar will start at $85,490 (both prices include destination).
The bottom line
As Ram Trucks preps for 2025 and a refreshed HD model (think: 2025 Ram 1500 updates), the brand is trying to give buyers a kick in the pants to consider a 2024 model. If you don’t need the latest-and-greatest, this might be a great option before the model-year changeover and price increases.
