If you read our first-look review of the Lexus RX Hybrid, you know that the it is our first BMW X5 alternative. With its sporty exterior, high-quality interior, and impressive fuel efficiency, it is a top value-for-money choice in its segment.
While the RX is likely to receive cosmetic updates later this year, MY2025 gains visual changes in the form of a new color option and a special edition package.
1. Lexus RX Black Line Special Edition
Limited to just 500 units in the U.S. for the 2025 model year, the Lexus RX Black Line Special Edition builds on the RX 500h F Sport Performance trim with an exclusive design package. The exterior is finished exclusively in Incognito body color (a shade of grey which is new for MY2025) complemented by black styling elements and 21-inch split five-spoke wheels in a black finish.
Notably, the edition introduces orange brake calipers to the RX lineup for the first time. Inside, the cabin features a black leather interior with gray contrast stitching. It is priced at USD 68,650 (MSRP including DPH fees).
2. Larger digital instrument cluster
Lexus has standardized the 12.3-inch instrument cluster (branded as the multi-information display), replacing the 7-inch unit, which was available in basic grades like the ‘RX’ in MY2024. The 12.3-inch instrument display offers more customization, following the industry trend of expanded digital interfaces. Given that some SUVs at half the price already feature larger screens, this update was overdue for Lexus!
3. F Sport Design package
For MY2025, Lexus has introduced an F Sport Design package for the RX, based on the Premium grade for the RX 350h. This variant adopts exterior elements including the F Sport front fascia, grille, rear valence, and 21-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with a gloss black metallic finish. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors. Inside, the F Sport Design offers Birch NuLux and Black upholstery options, paired with Black Open Pore Wood trim.
The RX 350h F Sport Design is priced at USD 57,055 (MSRP including DPH fees).
Specifications
There are no technical changes in the 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid. The 350h variant pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing 246 hp and 233 lb.-ft. of torque, powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery located under the rear seat. The top-end RX 500h is tuned to produce 366 hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque. Both models get standard all-wheel drive.
