The first units of the 2025 Toyota 4Runner have begun reaching buyers in the U.S. Images and videos shared on Reddit, Youtube, 4Runner Forums, and 4Runner6G forums show owners receiving keys to the gas model in variants including the TRD Sport, TRD Off Road, and Off-Road Premium.

The big news is that the 2025 Toyota 4Runner Hybrid (i-Force Max) will reach dealerships towards the end of March. Toyota appears to have communicated the timeline during the media drive, which was held last month in San Diego, as publications like GearJunkie, Edmunds, and Driving.ca, are reporting the same following the event.

Going by the organizer’s website, Toyota is also showcasing the 4Runner i-Force Max model at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show, which opens later this week, where buyers who are waiting for the electrified variant can get an early look at the vehicle.

Design & Interior

Visually, the 4Runner Hybrid retains a rugged, old-school SUV look, closely resembling the Tacoma Hybrid. The TRD Pro and Trailhunter grades add off-road enhancements like ARB’s OME forged shocks, a high-clearance front bumper, and a low-profile snorkel.

Inside, the modern-yet-functional cabin features physical buttons and dials, an available 14-inch touchscreen, a head-up display, and a JBL audio system with a detachable FLEX speaker. Heated and ventilated seats, a digital key, and multiple USB-C ports improve convenience.

Specifications

Toyota’s mid-size off-road SUV rides on the TNGA-F platform, shared with the Tacoma, Land Cruiser, Tundra, and Sequoia. Compared to its pickup truck counterpart, it gains a more refined ride and improved on-road manners.

Powering the 4Runner Hybrid is a 2.4L turbocharged engine paired with a 48-hp electric motor, delivering 326 hp and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. It offers part-time and full-time 4WD with an electronic locking rear differential, CRAWL Control, and Multi-Terrain Select.

Pricing

Pricing for the 2025 Toyota 4Runner Hybrid (MSRP, excluding delivery, processing, and handling fees) starts at $51,990 for the TRD Off-Road i-Force Max and goes up to $66,900 for the Trailhunter, with TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, and Platinum variants positioned in between.
