The Nissan Z has rich history in the world of sports cars. With roots dating back to 1970, the Z has been a favorite among enthusiasts for 55 years thanks to its ability to deliver affordable pricing, stylish design, and performance-oriented powertrains.
The Pick of the Day is a 2012 Nissan 370Z Touring coupe listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Winchester, Tennessee. (Click the link to view the listing)
“Car has always been garage-kept and maintained by Nissan,” the listing begins. “No modifications, all factory.”
The 370Z (known as the Fairlady Z34 in Japan) had a lengthy lifespan: It was first announced in 2006, formally unveiled at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show, and sold from model years 2009 through 2020. Throughout that span, it was offered in a variety of variants including a roadster, a high-performance NISMO coupe, an Anniversary Edition, and more.
The Aluminum Metallic exterior of this car complements the aerodynamic silhouette. The seller says that there have been no accidents or dents involving the body. Speaking of the exterior, when compared to the previous generation of the Z, the Z34 had a four-inch shorter wheelbase but a 1.3-inch wider width. Nissan was able to enhance handling by lowering the car’s weight, increasing its track, and using more high-strength aluminum.

Momentum comes from a “VQ37” 3.7-liter V6 that was rated at 332 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque when new. A six-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels, and one of the noteworthy features of the 370Z was its “Synchrorev Match” feature which would automatically “blip” the throttle to the needed rev range when downshifting.

The listing says that the car has only 32,245 miles on the odometer, and service was recently performed at the dealership. The brake calipers, pads, and rotors have been replaced. Best of all, the car is unmodified – which is rare to find due to the car’s popularity in “tuner” communities.

My favorite feature of the car is its unique “Persimmon” upholstery. The eye-catching color is carried through to the microfiber suede door panels. The cockpit seats only two people, so from a practicality perspective, the car is best utilized as a date-night ride, but it will without a doubt delivery more grins-per-mile than many other vehicles in its segment.
A magazine advertisement for the 370Z said, “The road to happiness has many curves.”
If the 370Z’s sensual curves have drawn your attention, consider reaching out to the seller to make further inquiry. The asking price is $21,000.
