At the Paris Motor Show 2024, I got to see the Xpeng P7+, which debuted as the world’s first AI-defined electric vehicle. While it garnered plenty of interest from reporters on media day, the Xpeng stall was packed with visitors on the public days, with many French attendees stopping by to get a closer look at this future model.

At 5056 mm (199.1 inches) long and a wheelbase of 3000 mm (118.1 inches), the P7+ is larger than the Xpeng P7i sedan and features advanced AI integration through the Xpeng AI Hawkeye Visual Solution. The P7+ features a 0.206 ultra-low drag coefficient, aiding its energy consumption of just 11 kWh/100 km.

Going by Chinese reports, powertrain options will include an entry-level version with 180 kW (241 hp) and a more powerful 230 kW (308 hp) variant. Two LFP battery options are reportedly available: a 60.7 kWh battery offering 620 km range (CLTC) and a 76.3 kWh battery with a 710 km range (CLTC). It also utilizes an 800V high-voltage SiC platform, ensuring ultra-fast charging.

The P7+ comes equipped with ventilated, heated, and massage seats upholstered in Nappa perforated leather. The spacious interior offers 725 liters of boot space, and the rear passengers have access to an 8-inch rear entertainment screen. A 20-speaker audio system delivers immersive sound throughout the cabin.

For ride quality, the P7+ features a double wishbone front suspension and multi-link independent rear suspension. The AI Hawkeye Visual Solution includes two 8M cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic radars, enhancing the vehicle’s perception and driving safety by eliminating the need for LiDAR systems.
