NEWPORT, R.I.  The Audrain Group, Newport, RI, announced that CEO Donald Osborne is transitioning to a new role as Consulting Director, effective November 1, 2024. After serving as CEO for five years, Osborne will retire from his current day-to-day duties. However, his transition to his new role does not mark the end of his involvement with the Audrain. Osborne will continue to be a public-facing representative of the Audrain, continuing to represent the organization in video projects such as “Mansions & Motorcars with Jay Leno” and at events such as the annual Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week, where Jay Leno will also continue as Chairman. Osborne will also work on collection acquisition, restoration, and presentation for the Audrain, ensuring a seamless continuation of his contributions.

Since joining the Audrain organization in December 2019, Osborne has led the group’s non-profit and for-profit automotive and lifestyle initiatives. This included overseeing branding, marketing, communication, and member engagement strategies and programs for the Audrain Automobile Museum, the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance & Motor Week, and the expansion of Audrain Motorsport.

“The Board and I appreciate Donald’s knowledge and expertise in the automotive and car collecting world. Having him as part of our team was instrumental in the growth of our organization and in building the expansive team that Audrain currently has,” shared Nicholas Schorsch, co-founder and chairman of the Audrain Automobile Museum. “Donald truly executed our mission of preserving, celebrating, and sharing automotive history through his work, passions, and guidance. We are excited to continue our partnership with Donald and look forward to future growth and success together.”

Osborne added, “It has been gratifying to have worked in my role as CEO, being able to combine so much of my background and various passions in helping to create so many memorable automotive experiences for both self-identified car enthusiasts and the much larger community here in Newport, the region and around the country and the world. Being a part of the team that has brought the Audrain Automobile Museum to its tenth anniversary and five editions of the Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week has been amazing. I look forward to my continued association with the Audrain organization in my new role and to seeing how it continues on the momentum built up across all its activities.”

Osborne’s former duties as CEO will be divided between long-term Audrain executives Benjamin Mercer, Chief Operating Officer of the Audrain Group, and Nic Waller as President of the Audrain Automobile Museum, Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week, and Audrain Motorsport entities.
