If you’ve never been to Westworld for the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, there are both indoor and outdoor portions, with the latter housed underneath eight very large tents. About half of the vehicles slated to be auctioned rest underneath the outside tents, with tons of gems that beg for your attention. Below are several of the spectacular vehicles that can be found in Tent 1.

1970 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 (Lot 830.1)
Nineteen seventy was a strange year for the Corvette as one model managed to offer a stronger engine than what was available for the Corvette. If you don’t understand the subtext, then consider the LS6 454/450 was available for the Chevelle but the best the Corvette could do was the LS5 454/390.

However, discerning Corvette enthusiasts gravitate towards the LT1 350/370. This Marlboro Maroon T-top Vette is said to have undergone a restoration that cost over $300,000. Other features includes Saddle vinyl interior and 4.10 gears.

1950 Jaguar XJ120 Roadster (Lot 1169.1)
This is the car that began America’s love affair with Jaguar. Don’t indignify the XK120 and lump it in with MGs because Jaguars are several steps above in prestige and performance. Regardless of social status, the XK120 was one of the most beautiful cars in the world, and its straight-six made it one of the fastest, too.

This frame-off restored (2002-06, with a 2020 refresh) Roadster is powered by a 3.4-liter six paired with twin SU carburetors. Other features on this silver/red feline include electric ignition and BorgWarner five-speed manual transmission (think about when Americans started using five-speeds). Splendid!

1972 Buick GS Stage 1 (Lot 1161)
The lean years were upon us, but Buick still built hot cars. Starting in 1971, Buick consolidated both Gran Sport models into one, so there was just a GS with a standard 350, optional 455, and a 455 Stage 1 above that. Only 81 were installed in convertibles.

Out of those 81, 30 were built in Flame Orange. Was it such a popular color? It would seem so, but it’s known that 25 were “Zone” cars sent to different zone offices around the U.S. and Canada. All these cars featured white bench seat, white top, Stage 1, Turbo Hydra‐Matic 400 , power disc brakes, fast variable-ratio power steering, Sonomatic AM radio, 8-track, rear speaker, through-bumper exhaust
extensions, Super Wide Oval G60‐15 tires with 15×7 chrome road wheels, air conditioning, color- coordinated custom seat belts, Soft‐Ray tinted windshield, front and rear bumper guards and bumper strips, sport mirrors, tilt steering column, convenience lighting group, gauges with Rallye clock, and Rallye
steering wheel. This car was Zone car #8, sent to Cleveland.

1977 Nissan Skyline GT-R (Lot 1181)
If you think this Nissan looks familiar but can’t place your finger on it, you wouldn’t be alone. Besides, in America, the brand was called “Datsun,” so clearly this Skyline was not imported to the U.S. when new.

This Skyline GT-R has been massaged a bit, having been obtained by Japanese tuning house and parts manufacturer Top Secret in 2010. Among the modifications include a 3.0-liter RB30 inline-6 engine, R26-specification cylinder head, high-lift camshaft, HKS F-Con V-Pro engine management system, individual throttle bodies, tubular exhaust headers, and five-speed manual. Note the placement of the gas fill-up on the right side.

2010 Abbot & Downing Western Concord Stagecoach Replica (Lot 181)
Grab your sarsaparilla and relax because here we have something different: a replica of a c.1840 stagecoach built by Abbot & Downing and restored by Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop in South Dakota. Capable of handling nine passengers (include three on a buddy seat), this stagecoach features front and rear roof seating, gold-leaf highlights, leather suspension, and hand brake for the rear wheels.

You would never guess how much this stagecoach weighs: 2,400 pounds. Plus, take a gander at the below image because there’s a reason why people choose to ride “shotgun.” And, remember: when riding, abstinence from liquor is requested and, if ladies are present, gentlemen are urged to forego smoking and rough language as they are repugnant to the gentle sex.

All of the above vehicles are being auctioned this week at WestWorld. Register to bid at Barrett-Jackson.com.
