If you’ve read our first-look review of the new Land Cruiser, you know we saw it as an apocalypse-proof SUV. We also reviewed it in the Trail Dust color, which we felt really brought out its adventurous character.

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, which continues as a Hybrid-only SUV that’s imported from Japan, sees three changes to the variant lineup for the U.S. compared to MY2024.

1. No First Edition grade

Toyota made just 5,000 units of the Land Cruiser First Edition Grade, and understandably, this fully-loaded trim with the classic round headlamps isn’t available for MY2025. The Land Cruiser now comes in two trims: the entry-level 1958 and the top-end Land Cruiser.

2. Heritage Blue available in monotone

For the 2024 model year, the Land Cruiser debuted with Heritage Blue as a dual-tone paint option, exclusively paired with a Grayscape roof. In the 2025 model year, Heritage Blue is now available as a monotone color (pictured above), providing configuration flexibility for buyers.

3. Integrated liftgate lights

For MY2025, the 1958 trim level gains integrated liftgate lights which offer improved cargo area illumination, which is especially useful at night. We noticed the need for this feature during our first review of the 2024 model (pictured).

‘Land Cruiser’ trim sees price drop

As it isn’t usually the case, the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser has gotten a tad more accessible in the high-end trim. The 1958 trim is now priced at $56,700 (MSRP, excluding DPH), representing a $750 increase. Meanwhile, the Land Cruiser trim is priced at $61,470 (MSRP, excluding DPH), marking a price drop of $480 in the high-end trim for MY2025.

Features

There are no additional features in the 2025 Land Cruiser over the 2024 model (pictured above). It comes with an 8-inch or optional 12.3-inch touchscreen running Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and pairs with an available 14-speaker JBL audio system. A Qi wireless charger offers added convenience.

The front row gets dual USB-C ports, with two more in the second row and an additional pair in the cargo area, alongside a 2400-Watt AC inverter (120V). A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with four display styles and customizable widgets is also available.

There are no technical changes in the 2025 Land Cruiser. The 2.4L turbocharged i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain pairs with a full-time four-wheel drive system, delivering 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. The electric motor is housed within the bell housing, positioned between the turbo engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. The system delivers a combined manufacture-estimated rating of 23 MPG.
