The car you drive, much like the shirt you wear, is a reflection of your personal sense of style. Some 40-plus years ago, Ford and fashion came together.
Featured on AutoHunter is this 1993 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer 4WD. It is being offered by a dealer in Hallsville, Texas, and the auction will end Friday.
Launched in 1920 in Seattle, the Eddie Bauer brand is widely recognized for its outdoor recreation gear and apparel. Today, in addition to the company’s online footprint, it operates 370 retail locations. And throughout history, the Eddie Bauer name has been applied to everything from eyewear and bicycles to sport-utility vehicles.
Ford and Eddie Bauer teamed up in 1983, and the first vehicle they collaborated on was a Bronco. In order to create a link between the two brands, advertisements discussed how they were both “rugged outfits.” One of the magazine features said, “Two names known for toughness get together in Ford’s special Eddie Bauer Bronco II. It is outfitted for all outdoors – with unique interior and exterior trim plus an operational flip-away spare tire carrier. Free Eddie Bauer top-quality gear bag and map folder included. Eddie Bauer Bronco II is a brand-new kick in survival gear.”
The most eye-catching aspect of this Bronco is its blue metallic paint job, accented by complementary tan for the rockers, the hardtop and the spare tire cover. When offered through a prior listing on ClassicCars.com, the seller said, “This truck has been through a 10-month restoration.” Included on the checklist (aside from that brilliant paint job, of course), were a new windshield, some new glass, gaskets, window felts, a fresh grille, new headlights, a leveling kit and BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires.

The CARFAX report for the vehicle illustrates an accident-free history that begins in Broomfield, Colorado. According to the records, the SUV spent its first decade in that area, after which it was relocated to Texas and has remained there ever since. Today, the odometer shows 142,125 miles. The CARFAX says that the rear window and associated motor were replaced in October. In addition, an oil change was performed within about the last 1,000 miles, and the blower motor resistor was replaced at the same time.

Power comes from a fuel-injected 5.8-liter Windsor V8 that was rated at 210 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to an “AOD-E” four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

If an Eddie Bauer-optioned Bronco appeals to you as a rugged addition to your current collection of “survival gear,” you’ll want to place a bid on it!
