One of Jaguar’s memorable taglines from over the years was “Grace, Space, Pace.” The catchy slogan offered not only a memorable triple-rhyme, but it also embodied three specific attributes that were of utmost importance in the vehicles that Jaguar produced. During an era when many luxury cars were known for being overly damped and floaty, Jag weaved in an element of performance – and the automotive marketplace loved it.

Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 53k-Mile 1999 Jaguar XJ8. The car is being offered by a dealer in Orlando, Florida, and the auction will end Monday.

Showing just 53,874 miles on the odometer, the car boasts accident-free history and a lengthy list of services performed. In fact, the CARFAX shows over 20 services complete, many of which were performed at dealerships. If you’re on the hunt for a low-mileage European executive ride, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a 26-year-old car as nicely kept as this one.

Produced for model years 1998 through 2003 in Coventry, England, the XJ-series served as a full-sized sedan (or “saloon”) in Jaguar family of cars. It was built on the X308 platform and it became Jag’s first saloon to be offered with a V8 engine. Specifically, that motor was the 4.0-liter “AJ” V8, and for those seeking an even more performance-oriented driving experience, it could be supercharged. Jaguar was adept at blending luxury and performance.

With that competitive edge in mind, a period magazine advertisement for the XJ8 said, “However well-dressed you are for the weather, you can still get goosebumps. With the refined acceleration of a 290-horsepower V8 and speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering, the Jaguar XJ8 can give you the most exhilarating run of the day.”

Finished in Topaz over Oatmeal, the car brings all the right ingredients to the luxury-car recipe, including a power sunroof, chrome trim, a dual exhaust system, wood-grain interior trim, power convenience options and (in typical 1990s fashion) a trunk-mounted CD changer. The finishes and materials both inside and out appear well-preserved in the photo gallery, and the listing includes a two-minute walk-around video that showcases the car’s exterior, a start-up, an interior tour and a demonstration of some of the features.

The seller notes in a comment on the auction, “Whether you’re a collector, an enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates fine automobiles, this XJ8 is a true gem. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Jaguar history.”

At 26 years old, this low-mileage Jag is just getting started. For a ride that exudes grace and can still keep the pace, it’s the perfect blend.

The auction for this 53k-Mile 1999 Jaguar XJ8 will end Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. (MST)
