Happy Chinese New Year, folks! Being a Wednesday, it’s time for the usual round of the weekly fuel price update, with the ministry of finance having announced the retail price for fuels for the coming week of January 30 to February 5, 2025.

After a month and a half of weekly increases, the price of RON 97 petrol finally stabilises, with the premium fuel remaining at the RM3.43 per litre it was priced at last week.

Unfortunately, diesel continues its weekly climb, with a five sen increase bringing the price of Euro 5 B10 and B20 grades to RM3.18 per litre for the coming week. As such, Euro 5 B7 diesel, which is 20 sen more per litre, also gets a five sen increase to RM3.38 per litre.

No change of course to the price of RON 95, which continues at its ceiling price of RM2.05 per litre, as set by the Malaysian government in February 2021. Meanwhile, the retail price of diesel fuel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan continues unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.

These fuel prices will take effect from midnight tonight until Wednesday, February 5, when the next set of fuel price updates will be announced. This is the fifth edition of the weekly fuel pricing format for this year, and the 316th in total since the format was introduced at the start of 2019.
