Proton eMas and smart distributor Pro-Net has announced the opening of two new twinned showrooms in Kuantan and Kuching. The outlets expand the two electric vehicle brands’ respective dealer networks to the East Coast and East Malaysia regions.
With HK Electra joining in Kuantan and Ghee Hua in Kuching, smart’s Malaysian dealer network now stands at 11 outlets strong nationwide. “Our expansion into Kuantan and Kuching reflects the growing demand for premium EVs in Malaysia. smart Malaysia is committed to making EV ownership more accessible through an expanded dealer network and enhanced customer experiences,” said Pro-Net CEO Zhang Qiang.
Established in 2007, HK Electra is the EV arm of Hoi Keen, a Proton 4S dealer. The 695 sq m showroom on Jalan Indera Mahkota has space for four display units and houses six chargers, including two 120 kW DC fast chargers, turning it into an EV hub in the East Coast.

Meanwhile, major motorcycle dealer and automotive service provider Ghee Hua is expanding into selling EVs with the opening of its Proton eMas and smart outlet on Jalan Abell. “The opening of smart Kuching represents a new era of electric mobility for Sarawak. As a trusted automotive dealer, we are excited to introduce smart’s innovative EV solutions to East Malaysia, empowering customers with cutting-edge technology and sustainability-driven choices,” said dealer-owner Kevin Law.
Separately, smart is offering several deals this month, including a 10% discount worth up to RM31,000 on a #1 or #3, a free smartCharge wallbox charger with standard installation included, RM1,000 in charging credits and exclusive corporate benefits.
