Family Day, a day for all ages to take in the excitement of both automobiles and automobilia, kicked off October 13th, the final day of the Barrett-Jackson 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction. The auction itself, presented by Gila River Resorts & Casinos, featured over 120 stunning vehicles crossing the block for young and old to enjoy.

Family Day commenced with the Automobilia Auction, upon which the Phoenix Children’s Choir sang the National Anthem before the sights and sounds of collectible vehicles began filling the stage area. Achieving the top bid was a fantastic 1969 Dodge Charger R/T painted “B5” Bright Blue metallic with a white vinyl roof and stripe-delete. This muscle Mopar was but one of several American muscle icons to join the top rankings for the day.

Making another appearance at Barrett-Jackson was the Future Collector Car Show (FCCS), a next-gen take on the evolution of the American automotive hobby. While the stalwarts of the hobby remain strong, a new set of classics appears on the radar of collectors. Many of these future collectibles were built in the 1980s (if not after), often with highly personalized features—not unlike previous generations, to be truthful. Intriguing Japanese-market vehicles and tuned Europeans dominate, but Americans are still part of the scene. Over 100 future collectibles were in attendance, with Brent Coleman’s 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage taking home Best of Show.

A Family Day favorite (as well as a fave for regular attendees on prior days) for adrenaline-filled excitement were the Dodge and GR Supra Thrill Rides on the Performance Track. This experience gave guests the opportunity to sit in the passenger seat and buckle up for an accelerated adventure on a closed course.

Barrett-Jackson will be returning to WestWorld of Scottsdale January 18-26 for the 2025 Scottsdale Auction. As the granddaddy of Barrett-Jackson events, the January auction will once again crank the excitement up to 11 for another thrilling event, so be sure to mark your calendars!
